Nationally, ratings for this year’s Super Bowl on Fox set a new record, with 111.5 million people watching, according to Nielsen.

The numbers here in Austin were just as stellar. Fox 7 was No. 1 in the ratings Feb. 2 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

At its peak, 69.9 percent of Central Texas households watching TV were tuned into the big game. That equates to roughly 350,000 households.
