ABC Family’s "The Lying Game," a primetime drama filmed in Austin, has been cancelled, a spokeswoman confirmed this afternoon.
The cable network didn’t provide details on what led to the decision.
The addictive, fast-paced show, which focused on separated-at-birth twins searching for their birth mother, lasted for two seasons.
"The Lying Game" was filmed at Austin Studios. Stars included Alexandra Chando, Andy Buckley, Tyler Christopher, Adrian Pasdar and Helen Slater.
Chando broke the news to fans on Instagram today: "To our awesome #lyinggame fans, thank you for these two amazing seasons. Unfortunately, Abc Family has decided not to bring us back for a third season. We so wanted to do 10 more for you guys! Thanks for your support and keep up with the cast to see what’s next for us! Xx"
Viewership for the show had been decent, according to TV by the Numbers, with ratings for its season finale topping all other scripted cable TV series in two key demos: women ages 18-34 and 18-49.
"The Lying Game’s" farewell comes just weeks after NBC’s "Revolution" announced it would relocate to Austin to film its second season. Shooting began this month, and the show is currently looking for extras.
