KXAN isn’t the only Austin TV station planning to debut a new, locally produced lifestyle show this summer.

CBS affiliate KEYE announced today that "We Are Austin" will hit the airwaves June 30 – more than a month ahead of the planned August launch of KXAN’s "Studio 512."

"We Are Austin" will air weekdays at 9 a.m. on KEYE, replacing "The 700 Club," longtime occupant of that time slot.

Hosts for the show will be Allison Miller, the station’s morning meteorologist, and newcomer Chris Saldana.

"Although I have only lived in Austin for two and a half years, I definitely feel at home," Miller said. "On the weekends, I love being able to explore new restaurants, events and anything outdoorsy, including hiking and camping."

Saldana arrives in Central Texas after a stint at a TV station in Las Vegas.

"Texas is home," he said. "I am blessed for the chance to be able to do something I have a passion for, so close to home, Del Rio, Texas. I was incredibly patient where my next stop would be after being in Las Vegas for 10 years. KEYE’s ‘We Are Austin’ is a perfect fit for me right now."
