Drafthouse Films will release "I Declare War" in Austin on August 30. The movie from co-directors Jason Lapeyre and Robert Wilson follows a group of 12-year olds who head to the woods for a game of capture the flag that gets out of hand. The movie premiered at Fantastic Fest last year and the Statesman’s Joe Gross called it "smart, resonant filmmaking."

The movie "mixes the harsh drama of middle-school friendships with a surrealism that adds to the tension," Gross wrote.

To celebrate the coming release, Lapeyre and Wilson are coming to Austin on Friday, August 9 with the film’s lead, Gage Munroe, for an epic game of paintball and capture the flag, followed by a special rolling roadshow screening of the movie.

Tickets are being sold for the paintball/flag event and screening for $25, with tickets just for the screening going for $10. Purchase tickets here.

We are giving away a package of tickets for the paintball/capture the flag event and screening and a pair of tickets just for the screening.
