July 22 is the day Austin’s newest Alamo Drafthouse will open its doors.

The 10-screen cineplex – the Austin-based chain’s largest to date – is located in the Lakeline Market shopping center at 14028 N. U.S. 183. It can accommodate approximately 1,000 moviegoers.

Initially, Alamo Drafthouse had said it planned for a nearby location to remain open, but founder Tim League announced Wednesday that the theater located in the Lake Creek shopping center, at 13729 N. U.S. 183, will close for good July 21.

"I built the original Lake Creek Alamo with my own two hands," League said. "I am excited that more skilled craftsmen than myself have replaced it with a brand new, state-of-the-art cinema for the neighborhood."

Employees are still needed for the new theater. Apply online at drafthouse.com/careers.
