Quick: What are the four main food groups?
If you answered candy, candy canes, candy coins and syrup, you’ll want to set aside Dec. 2 for the 3M Half Marathon’s Elf Pub Run.
The event, which includes a run through downtown and a stop by Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden for a few pints of beer, doubles as an early party for the Half Marathon, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
Don your best elf costume - the top five costumes win free entry into Jan. 19 race and two free film passes to the Paramount & Stateside Theatres.
The pub run starts at 6 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, 713 Congress Avenue, and proceeds through downtown to Banger’s, 79 Rainey Street, before heading back to the theater for a 7:45 p.m. screening of the classic Will Ferrell holiday flick "Elf."
Cost is $15 and includes the pub run, film, beer, a 3M reflective armband and a special gift. If you just want to see the movie, it’s $10. Register at www.austintheatre.org.
Proceeds benefit the historic Paramount Theatre. Bring a valid ID that matches your registration sign up.
