You might have heard or seen by now, but this week, the Statesman’s paywall officially went up. Relish Austin will continue to be part of the free content on Austin360.com, but the stories that appear in the print edition of the newspaper, which are often the longer, meatier, hard-to-get-anywhere-else articles, will live on MyStatesman.com, a premium, easy-to-navigate (read: less cluttered) site that I hope you’ll check out and consider signing up for. Outdoors writer (yes, we have one of those) and longtime barbecue lover Mike Leggett isn’t happy about the consequences of the smoked meat craze, especially after he got less-than-stellar service at Louie Mueller in Taylor recently. "But when the long-time customers start bailing on you — and I’m one of those — you need to pay attention to what’s happening. This high can’t last forever, guys."

From the business desk: A company has sued Paul Qui for unpaid lamps, fixtures and other electrical supplies, and Amy’s Ice Creams has sued Amy’s Kitchen to try to prevent the California-based company from getting in on the ice cream business.

NadaMoo!, the Austin-based dessert company that sells ice creams based on coconut milk instead of cow’s milk, has expanded quickly since it started in 2004, and it has recently released two new flavors in stores across the country.

Yesterday, we updated you on the possible changes to the urban farm code, and over the weekend, Esther Robards-Forbes explained how the state’s farm loan program helps farmers like Brenton Johnson of Johnson’s Backyard Garden.
