Some good news today from the City of Austin’s Sustainable Urban Agriculture & Community Gardens Program.

Thirteen food and agriculture groups in Austin have received what the city’s Parks and Recreation Department is calling "mini-grants" that together are worth more than $31,000. The grants support projects including community gardens, food hubs, sustainable urban farming and educational programs for new farmers.

The nonprofits and businesses receiving the grants are El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission, Food For Black Thought, Foundation Communities, Sustainable Urban Solutions, Austin Community Design and Development Center, Green Gate Farms, Moontower Community Agricultural Co-op, East Feast 2022 Coalition, UT Micro Farm, Central Cherry Creek Neighborhood Association/Cherry Creek Community Garden, Ten Acre Organics LLC, New Farm Institute and Regeneration Eco-Farm.
