In 2012, emotional Denver-based folk ‘n’ roll trio The Lumineers stormed through SXSW less than a month before dropping their eponymous debut album. By mid-summer, the band’s shout-along single "Ho Hey" was burning up the adult contemporary airwaves. By the time the Lumineers returned to Austin for ACL Fest, the buzz around the band had become so clamorous that they sardine-packed a side stage in the early afternoon. By the end of the year they had garnered Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Americana Act.
