NPR has revealed the lineup for its official 2014 SXSW Music showcase scheduled for Wednesday, March 12 at Stubb’s. The headliner is Damon Albarn, best known for his roles as the leader of rock band Blur and animated audio visual project the Gorillaz. Albarn will be performing songs from his new solo album "Everyday Robots."
Singer-songwriter, art-rocker and guitar shredder St. Vincent who is also on the bill.
R&B artist Kelis, best known for her 2003 club banger "Milkshake" will be in house to perform songs from her new album "Food" which has been generating serious internet buzz. Syracuse punk band Perfect P rounds out the lineup.
Despite the fact that Tuesday showcase offerings have expanded exponentially in recent years, the NPR Stubb’s showcase has traditionally served as a music festival kick-off event. Artists who hit the NPR stage tend to have big weeks at the festival. NPR will live stream audio and video from the event on their website and through the NPR music app. More details.
