Great love has fueled great love songs, but horrible break ups have fueled at least as many (if not scores more) of our favorite songs. The upside of love gone wrong is the great music that comes out of it.
There are the great girl power anthems that ladies belt out at karaoke nights (like Erykah Badu’s "Tyrone" and Alanis Morissette’s "You Oughta Know,") and bittersweet remembrance songs (Cat Steven’s "Wild World," Kate Nash’s "Merry Happy.")
As usual, our Austin360 staff has offered up picks that span genres and decades, from Nina Simone ("My Man’s Gone Now") to Kanye West ("Blame Game"); from George Jones ("He Stopped Loving Her Today") to Haim ("The Wire").
Listen to our Love Gone Wrong playlist, and then let us know in the comments: what songs did we miss?
