UPDATE: The location and times for the Emotional Support Center have changed: The center will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Radisson Hotel, 111 E. Cesar Chavez St., second floor. Parking will be validated for the Radisson parking garage for Emotional Support Center visitors.

The City of Austin, SXSW and the American Red Cross of Central Texas have established an Emotional Support Center in Downtown Austin to assist residents and visitors coping with the tragic events that occurred on Red River Street early on March 13.
The Emotional Support Center will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, March 14, and Saturday, March 15, at the Austin Convention Center, at 500 E Cesar Chavez St., Room 5C.
The jointly-operated center will focus on providing counseling and emotional support to SXSW staff and volunteers, as well as residents or visitors who were impacted by the incident in which a car ran through barricades and killed two people and injured 23 others.
The Red Cross is also operating information assistance phones lines to help impacted individuals connect with loved ones or to talk with a counselor by phone.

Monetary donations to support relief services can be made to the SXSW Cares Fund. The SXSW Cares Fund will help people affected by the tragic events of March 13. The funds will be disbursed to those most affected through a community-based process. Donate at www.sxswcares.com.
