Two days after South By Southwest launched the SXSW Cares donation site SXSWcares.com, the fund has raised over $100,000 to aid victims of the terrible crash that happened on Red River Street on Wednesday night. That total includes $55,152 of online donations showing on a ticker at SXSW.com at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, an anonymous donation of $20,000 and a donation of $10,000 from Stratus Properties CEO Beau Armstrong. It also includes a $20,000 donation from Vans Shoes, sponsor for the official SXSW showcases at the Mohawk, the Red River club in closest promixity to the crash.
All money raised by SXSW Cares will go to the victims of the crash and their families.
