Drive-By Truckers at Stubb’s. Ultimately, the Drive-By Truckers comes down to the tension and tangle between raconteur frontman Patterson Hood and ultra-cool guitarist Mike Cooley. Before the show, they’ll stop by Waterloo Records for a 5:30 p.m. in-store performance. Oklahoma singer-songwriter JD McPherson, whose debut album "Signs & Signifiers" was released by Rounder, opens the Stubb’s show, which is on the outdoor stage. $20-23. 8 p.m. 801 Red River St. stubbsaustin.com. — P.B.
