Sincola, Fastball, Wannabes, Magnet School at Hole in the Wall. An impressive power-pop assemblage on night three of the Hole’s 40th-anniversary celebration stars Fastball, who were known as Magneto USA when they first started playing the campus-area venue in the mid-’90s. A couple years later, their sophomore album launched "The Way," one of the most successful hit singles Austin has ever known. Ranked by seniority, the Wannabes come out on top; though they never made waves nationally, the punk-pop antiheroes with a humorous streak have been a local touchstone since the late 1980s. Sincola’s window was brief but eventful; formed by veterans of numerous Austin acts and fronted by singer Rebecca Cannon, the quintet rose from a local label to national indie Caroline before flaming out after three mid-’90s records. Magnet School are comparative newbies, formed in 2005, but their sound is a good fit for the bill. $12. 9 p.m.2538 Guadalupe St. holeinthewallaustin.com.
