Beardyman at Red 7. Not your run of the mill electronica guy, occasionally bearded London artist Darren Foreman is a skilled beatboxer, a reasonably credible singer and a hysterically funny conversationalist. He’s also a technical genius. Peppered with vocal impressions of everything from bumblebees and guns to his own Jewish mother and Elton John, his shows loop together beats, melody clips and random sounds to create an audio patchwork that’s mind-boggling and exhilarating. It’s also hilarious and frequently danceable, unlike anything else you’ll see this summer. Flavor Raid opens. $15. Doors at 9 p.m. 611 E. Seventh St. red7austin.com. — Deborah Sengupta Stith

Ray LaMontagne at Long Center. From his auspicious 2004 debut "Trouble" through the Grammy-winning 2010 disc "God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise," LaMontagne delivered an album of deeply affecting, soulful singer-songwriter music every two years. That regularity was broken in 2012, but he returned this spring with "Supernova," a fascinating collection that was worth the four-year wait. Recorded in Nashville with red-hot producer Dan Auerbach, the album explores sonic textures that bring to mind the Beatles’ more ambitious pop explorations, especially on the psychedelia-tinged opening track "Lavender." The Belle Brigade opens, and also serves as LaMontagne’s backing band. Technically sold out. 7 p.m. 701 W. Riverside Drive. thelongcenter.org. — Peter Blackstock
