Austin public radio station 98.9 KUTX FM announced a few major changes to its weekly lineup today. Gary Dinges has the details on his TV & Radio Blog, but the biggest switches include moving John Aielli’s popular "Ekletikos" program to morning drive time Monday through Thursday. Susan Castle, who has been holding down the drive time with her excellent "Ocho Loco" program will move into Aielli’s 9 a.m. slot.

Fans of world music, and, you know, weekday diversity will probably be sad to see that Michael Crockett’s fantastic Latin music show "Horizontes" has moved from Friday afternoons to 7 p.m. Sunday nights where it will kick off an eight hour block of Latin music that also includes the popular syndicated NPR program Alt Latino. Unfortunately the change preempts Crockett’s excellent world music program "Global Grooves" which will move to the KUTX HD stream along with the station’s "World Music" show. Crockett’s Friday afternoon slot will be taken over by Jody Denberg who will use the time to host more bands in the station’s Studio 1A, previewing weekend shows. Ed Miller’s folk music program "Folkways" and Celtic spotlight "Across the Water" have been cancelled.
