The second annual Carnivores Ball takes place on October 23 at the Brodie Homestead in South Austin (5211 Brodie Ln.). The event, hosted by Jess Pryles, who blogs under the name Burger Mary, features a meat-centric meal prepared by Freedmen’s Bar, Salt & Time, Dallas barbecue posse the Slow Bone, dessert from Fried & True, with an assist from former Curly’s partner John Brotherton, cocktails from Texas distillers Garrison Brothers, and beer from Saint Arnold Brewing Company.
