After 14 years the Austin flamenco rock band anchored by brothers Mark and Rick del Castillo has decided to call it quits. "We just need to take a break," Mark del Castillo said yesterday, citing the struggles facing an independent band as a dominant factor in the decision to disband.

Del Castillo said he’s "very grateful and happy" for everything the band has achieved but is ready to focus on other projects including ongoing collaborations with director Robert Rodriguez.

Drop by the Roost next Friday (Sept. 26) to revel in the band’s passionate gypsy rock one last time and say goodbye with a smile. $25. 8 p.m. doors.
