Former University of Texas Longhorn quarterback Vince Young has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection (read Kirk Bohls’ story here on Statesman.com), but the filing will not affect the downtown Austin steakhouse that bears his name.
The steakhouse is owned by husband-and-wife partners Phillip and Laura Brown, with their close friend Young serving as the restaurant’s naming partner and "face of the steakhouse," according to Laura Brown.
"We support Vince one hundred perfect in his decisions in life and wish him nothing best the absolute best, as he is like family to us," Laura Brown said. "The Vince Young Steakhouse will continue to grow and prosper in the Austin community and will not at all be responsible or affected by Vince’s recent bankruptcy filings. We couldn’t ask for a better addition to the business and he visits often and goes above and beyond to share in our guests dining experiences."
A source tells me he spotted Young at the steakhouse last weekend.
