Denise M. Fulton’s “Bough” is one of the paintings on display for her show with Mark Nesmith at the Davis Gallery.

Artists Denise Fulton and Mark Nesmith’s works have important similarities that make up the heart of the “Terra Chroma” show at the Davis Gallery. Local painter Fulton adds depth and complexity to her pieces by varying the thickness of the paint at the edge of each stroke, while Nesmith, a musician, painter and teacher, scrapes and scrubs at the paint to give the work a patina-like texture.

The show will delineate those parallels while also affirming the individual nature that each artist expresses through the vehicle of the brush.
