Today’s Austin Music Source column in the American-Statesman looks at Project ATX6, which has sponsored journeys to international music festivals for a half-dozen Austin musicians in each of the past two years. The project’s organizer, Chris Brecht, is working on a documentary about the journeys that also involves interviews back home in Austin about the musicians’ lives and creative pursuits.

Here’s a clip about 2014 Project ATX6 member Dana Falconberry about her day job working with vintage clothing, interspersed with performance footage from a show at Cactus Cafe:

Another 2104 participant was Aisha Burns. Here she tells a very personal story about her song “Requiem,” set to her performance of the song at a Ramones museum in Berlin during Project ATX6’s trip to Germany last year.

More clips can be seen on the Project ATX6 Vimeo channel. Brecht is seeking to create either an episodic series or a feature-length film about the musicians who have participated in the program.
