2015 is shaping up to be a big year for Austin singer-songwriter Walker Lukens. He has a new album "Baked Goods" produced by Spoon’s Jim Eno in the works, and next month he plays the X-Games before taking off for a month-long residency gig at Bowery Electric in NYC. His new single "Every Night" is a snappy mix of doo wop and soulful indie rock locked and loaded with huge radio potential.
He premiered the video for the song today. It finds our hero Lukens engaging in a series of facetime chats with a rowdy blonde that start with a rambunctious romp through Austin that travels deep into the dark heart of Dirty Sixth. The new album doesn’t have a release date yet, but Lukens and Eno told Consequence of Sound it will include appearances from a couple of the guys from local cumbia funk powerhouse Grupo Fantasma.
Lukens plays his last scheduled Austin club gig for a few months on Saturday, April 25 at Stubb’s inside with A. Sinclair.
