KGSR 25th anniversary show. With the diversification of Austin radio over the past quarter-century, it’s easy to forget that when KGSR arrived on the scene in December 1990, it was a pretty big deal. In helping to pioneer the AAA format nationwide, original program director Jody Denberg significantly broadened an FM dial that mainstream stations had dominated. Denberg moved on to KUTX a few years ago, but the station’s identity lives on in its popular Blues on the Green concerts and its yuletide “Broadcasts” benefit CDs. Of Monsters and Men, Leon Bridges and George Ezra help the station celebrate with a sold-out show (the station also has been giving away tickets). 8 p.m. 310 Willie Nelson Blvd. kgsr.com. — P.B.
