Parties, showcases, RSVPs, new acts, keynotes and more – keeping up with all the latest on SXSW can be a headache. Here’s the important stuff we heard about this week:
News of the free:SXSW guest passes for Auditorium Shores shows were made available (you can get one at the gate) and an all-Latino show at the shores was announced.SIDE PARTIES, Side Parties, side parties. All of them can be found in our frequently updated, mobile friendly SXSW Side Party Database.The Flaming Lips AND Future Islands will play at a SXSW Interactive party you can win entry to.Waterloo Records announced the lineup for its day parties.Fests within the fests: Mexican American Experience (March 18-19) and Pan Americana (March 20-21) announced their lineups.Freebirds World Burrito is throwing a party in St. Vincent de Paul’s parking lot with Ray Wylie Hubbard, Kevin Kinney and more.Two long-running parties bring the Americana hard to the fest: Guitartown/Conqueroo and Twangfest lineups are available.For you early risers, KUTX has announced the lineup of artists playing their breakfast-time shows at the Four Seasons.Hype Machine’s Hype Hotel opened their RSVPs for five days of music at Fair Market.Shortly thereafter, the Pandora Discovery Den posted their RSVP page for day parties at the Gatsby.
Line-up updates:Wynnona Judd, ’nuff said.CONFIRMED on Feb. 23: Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio, Vic Mensa, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Badbadnotgood, Freddie Gibbs and Earl Sweatshirt.Hip-hop updates: Just Blaze, Atmosphere, to showcase; 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Z-Ro, Kevin Gates and Migos were announced by SXSW.fm.And Friday, we learned of Charles Bradley, Spoon, Kurupt, Chevy Woods and more joining the line up.
The rumor mill:Big Sean was added to the bill for the MTVu Woodie Awards show; he’s signed to Kanye West’s label, which leads us to speculate about Kanye as keynote.Yes, Will Butler will be at SXSW. Now we know that brother Win is coming too. Might the Arcade Fire all come to town to play some tunes?
In other news:The much-beloved Fader Fort will be an official, invite-only SXSW event.Interactive announced some new featured speakers, including Sen.
