M83 at Stubb’s outdoor. With the new release “Junk,” released Friday, French dream pop master Anthony Gonzalez and his band push beyond the cinematic soundscaping we know and love. Gonzalez says he was inspired by vintage TV shows like “Punky Brewster” and “Who’s the Boss” while working on this album, and some of the tracks take a sharp left turn into goofy, post-EDM nostalgia. But fans have been eagerly awaiting the release, as evidenced by how quickly this show sold out. Yacht opens. Doors at 7 p.m. 801 Red River St. stubbsaustin.com. — D.S.S.
