Sixth Street is packed with people at the Pecan Street Festival on Sunday, September 28, 2014. DEBORAH CANNON / AMERICAN-STATESMAN

Austin’s music axis may have shifted up Red River, down South Congress and east of I-35, but the historic stretch of Sixth between the Interstate and Congress still grants a wide, welcoming berth for this twice-annual festival. It’s mainly an arts and crafts fair, but there’s free music on three stages from noon until dark on Saturday and Sunday.

Performers include Soul Track Mind, A Giant Dog, Magna Carda, Suzanna Choffel, Hard Proof, Residual Kid, Kiko Villamizar, Mindz of a Different Kind and many more.

Details: 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free.
