The Paleontological Society of Austinís 25th Annual Fossil Fest is making dinosaurs come alive for kids and families this weekend.

It might be hard to imagine Austin in prehistoric times, but Central Texas once used to be roamed by dinosaurs. This weekend, learn more about ancient Austin and the fossils in our backyard at the Paleontological Society of Austinís annual festival. The theme for this yearís fest is prehistoric sea monsters, so there will be a mosasaurus and other marine reptile fossils on display.

Plus, University of Texas paleontologists will be on hand to answer questions and show off thei

r own fossil collections; the kid-friendly event will also have workshops and games and vendors selling real and replica fossils.
