Summer in Austin means high, high temperatures, but it also brings a bevy of free entertainment options. One of Austin’s newer and more beloved free entertainment series is “Sound and Cinema,” presented by Do512 and the Alamo Drafthouse on the lawn of the Long Center.

The series pairs classic films (“The Sandlot,” “Ghostbusters”) with local live music (Otis the Destroyer, Hard Proof). Kicking off this Wednesday, June 3, it will be competing for your affections with the rescheduled Blues on the Green kickoff with a screening of “Weekend at Bernies” and music by Don Chani.

The event starts at 6 p.m. with food trucks opening, then music starts at 7:30 p.m. and the movie starts at dark. Folding chairs, blankets and kids are allowed. Alcohol, drugs, weapons and pets are not.  Check out the full schedule below.
