Four of Charles Umlauf’s children also became artists, branching out beyond sculpture. At the opening reception of their new exhibit at the Russell Collection Fine Art Gallery, they’ll be present to show off their works. Contributed by Russell Collection.

One Texas artist has become nearly synonymous with sculpture on a regional scale — Charles Umlauf. Austin residents might already be familiar with the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, which showcases 51 pieces of his sculpture in verdant gardens. But he also had six children — four of whom became artists and have produced remarkable work that is building upon the Umlauf legacy.

The Russell Collection is helping to show off Arthur, Madelon, Lynn and Karl’s works, as well as their father’s, with this new exhibit.
