The Austin Opera presents Charles Gounod’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous love story: Romeo and Juliet.

The production features an ornate set, classical costumes, and powerful vocals sung in French with English translations projected above the stage. The opera was composed by a French man, after all. The show is comprised of five acts and features the Austin Opera Chorus and Orchestra.

Saturday’s production begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Long Center. Ticket prices range from $19-$141. The show runs an additional two nights – Jan. 29 (7:30 p.m.) and Feb. 1. (3:00 p.m.).
