Pachanga Latino Music Festival has partnered with Austin National Public Radio affiliate 98.9 KUTX FM and nationally syndicated public radio program Alt.Latino to program a stage during this year’s event which takes place on Saturday, May 16 at Fiesta Gardens in east Austin. The stage will feature performances from afro-Colombian outfit Palenke Soultribe, Chicago-based pan-Latin American ensemble  Dos Santos Anti-Beat Orquesta, led Alex Chavez who used to front the popular Austin band Maneja Beto and L.A.-based torch singer Irene Diaz. (Austin360’s Nancy Flores caught up with Diaz when she was in town for South by Southwest last month.) The fest will also bring back the big band Orkesta Mendoza for the third time and Austin’s own all-star Selena cover band Bidi Bidi Banda will also make an appearance.

The newly announced artists join a lineup that already featured popular Mexican artists Kinky and Compass (Toy Selectah and Mexican Institute of Sound) and a rare North American appearance from Spanish hip-hop singer Mala Rodriguez. Tickets to the festival are currently available online for $39 or $117 for an HEB four-pack. More information.
