OUT THIS WEEK

BP Fallon, "Live in Texas" (Saustex). Fallon is an Irishman and not an Austinite, but this album is a distinctly Austin product. Recorded last October at ABGB, it features local luminaries Joe "King" Carrasco and Danny B. Harvey in the backing band (along with acoustic guitarist Aaron Lee Tasjan), and is being issued by Austin/San Antonio label Saustex. Fallon’s essentially a spoken-word artist, reciting poetry and telling stories of his adventurous career behind the scenes with artists including U2 and Led Zeppelin on numbers with titles such as "Time Is an Accordion" and "I Believe in Elvis Presley." This is a limited-edition release of 700 CDs, with digital-download sales also available. Fallon will be at SXSW, with an official showcase March 19 at midnight plus other appearances to be announced.

Big Bill, "The Second Bill" EP. The follow-up to the band’s 2013 debut EP "A Hard Day’s Bill" features six tracks of lo-fi garage-rock strangeness. Song titles such as "I Wanna Do Evil" and "Who Put Dave in the Microwave" reveal the band’s humorous bent. Relese party Feb. 19 at Holy Mountain.
