NYE 1979 at Hotel Vegas. Each year, Hotel Vegas’ Jason McNeely celebrates the turn of the year by transporting his club to evoke the sounds and scenes of another era with the regular crew of bands that inhabit the club, fleshing out that moment in time. This year, he tackles 1979, when disco started sputtering, rock got grimier and new wave began bubbling to surface. Sweet Spirit, Holy Wave, Flesh Lights and many more will take on the tunes of Olivia Newton John, Bowie, ELO and many more. Doors at 5 p.m. 1500 E. Sixth St. — D.S.S.
