Miro Quartet

The Miró — the string quartet-in-residence at the University of Texas’ Butler School of Music since 2003 — is offering the free download in celebration of  its 20-year anniversary.

They’ll also launched a 1:1 purchase-to-donate download model. Fans can donate $10 for “Transcendence” and then choose a music educator or program to receive that recording as well as the entire Miró  catalog for free.

And, the Miró has launched a social media contest to elicit videos from school music programs for a chance to win a free master class from the internationally recognized quartet. School music programs can submit — via the Miró’s Facebook page or Twitter account (@miroquartet) — a 30-second video that creatively shows what “transcendence” means to them.
