The Long Center for the Performing Art has hired Arizona arts executive Cory Baker to lead a newly formed department which will combine the organization’s programming and production teams, center officials announced.

Baker assumes the newly created position of Vice President, Programming and Production, effective Dec 1.

Most recently  Baker served as Vice President, Director at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts in Scottsdale, Arizona where she developed new programming and initiatives.

Long Center director Jamie Grant said the new VP position will help build synergy between the programming and production departments. "We’ve discovered that executing a great show is just as important as selecting one, marketing one, and selling one," he said. "So the concept of combining these efforts is important."
