You’ve had dinner with Keith Kreeger, even if you didn’t realize it. Well, you’ve had dinner with his work, at least. The Austin-based artist’s ceramics can be found at several of Austin’s best restaurants, as well as top restaurants around the country.
On November 18, during the East Austin Studio Tour, Kreeger and Austin artist Ryan McKerley will host the fourth annual Make. Eat. Drink. The event at Franklin Barbecue is a collaborative dinner between chefs and artists, who will make one-of-a-kind works specifically for the dinner.
“The hope that is that inspiration for the food is inspired by the plate that’s created for that course,” Kreeger said.
Kreeger will lead the artists’ side of the event, as pottery is made to complement the menu, while Aaron Franklin invites guests into the kitchen to study the processes of the chefs, which include himself, Alexandra Manley of Bufalina and Andrew Wiseheart of Gardner and Contigo.
“We’re thrilled with the opportunity to host the event again, and it’s a wonderful way to show off our creative community. Aaron and Stacy are an integral part of our city. When you think about craft, process and a respect for materials, it’s clear that Franklin Barbecue is a perfect place to host this event,” Kreeger said. “Aaron and Stacy have been so amazing to work with. It’s been a true collaboration on many levels.”
