The 42nd season of “Austin City Limits” will kick off in the midst of South by Southwest with a March 15 performance by Iggy Pop, the day before his previously announced SXSW official show.

Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme will team with Pop at both shows, which coincide with the March 18 release of their collaborative album “Post Pop Depression.” This will be Pop’s first performance on “Austin City Limits”; Homme appeared with Queens of the Stone Age in season 39.

Also making a return to the program is indie-rock band My Morning Jacket, set for a May 2 taping. The group taped the show in 2006 and 2008; this time they’ll spotlight songs from their acclaimed 2015 album “The Waterfall.”

Natalie Lafourcade, an eclectic superstar of Mexican music, will make her “ACL” debut with a March 23 taping. Her most recent album, “Hasta La Raíz,” is nominated for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album at next months Grammy Awards.

Tickets to tapings generally are given away about a week before the performances. Check the program’s website and follow its social media accounts for ticket details.
