After a successful run in March, hip-hop performance poet Zell Miller III is re-staging his original show “Hands Up Hoodies Down” at the Vortex Theatre Sept. 17-26.

“Hands Up Hoodies Down” takes a sharp and personal look at the all-too-frequent incidents of police violence against unarmed African Americans.

Blending spoken word, dance and music, Miller’s show is collaboration with choreographer Sadé Jones and poet Da’Shade Moonbeam as well asthe Ashé Arts Collective.
