Antone’s will pay tribute to the late Austin DJ and musician Paul Ray with a March 3 show featuring Ray’s 1970s bandmates Jimmie Vaughan and Denny Freeman as well as Antone’s co-owner Gary Clark Jr., guitarist Charlie Sexton and more.

Ray, the longtime KUT/KUTX DJ and host of the station’s popular Saturday night program “Twine Time,” died Jan. 15 at age 73. Particpating musicians will play songs from the repertoire of the Cobras, which Ray fronted for many years alongside guitarists including Freeman and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Additional performers for the tribute show will be announced soon.

General admission tickets are $35 via Ticketfly. A $75 VIP ticket includes access to the new venue’s upstairs area, which has not previously been open as construction crews have worked to get rooms ready for South by Southwest. Proceeds will benefit the Paul Ray Memorial Fund.

The new Antone’s opened on Dec. 31. Clark played the club earlier this week for an Artists Den taping, and also took part in an impromptu jam last month with Freeman, Derek O’Brien, Eve Monsees and others on the day of Ray’s passing.
