Live music venue veterans Will Tanner (Hole in the Wall) and Nathan Hill (The White Horse) teamed up to bring a new club to the scene. The grand opening for the new hot spot, Stay Gold, begins Friday and continues all weekend.

Friday night’s festivities kick off with a performance from Hard Proof Afrobeat. The rest of the weekend’s events include a performance from The Soul Supporters on Saturday and a screening of ‘The Outsiders’ and music from DJ Feelin’ Groovy on Sunday. All shows are free and open to the public this weekend.

The club’s bar features local draft beers, a variety of Texas and international wines, and craft cocktails to be consumed on a full patio. The venue will also feature a new food trailer called Toaster, operated by Hannah Love, aformer pastry sous chef at Perla’s Seafood & Oyster Bar.

Stay Gold (1910 E Cesar Chavez St) plans to host local jazz, funk, soul, and afrobeat artists nightly at 10 p.m.

Our own Deborah Sengupta-Stith got the scoop on the club earlier this week. Read her write-up here.
