Forget bluebonnets — Georgetown is all about the lovely red poppies that appear all around town, and the city is throwing its annual festival to celebrate them with live music, a parade and car show, among other fun activities.

The Friday night concert features Dysfunkshun Junkshun, and the Saturday shows include Roland Waits and the Wayward Travelers, Two Tons of Steel and John Michael Montgomery.

This year, Georgetown is also launching the Red Poppy Taste Awards, a cooking competition whose winners will be announced on stage during the Saturday night concert.

Details: 7 p.m. Friday through 5 p.m. Sunday. Free. Georgetown Square.
