DEBORAH CANNON / AMERICAN STATESMAN

The tradition honoring Georgetown’s signature red poppies kicks off on Earth Day and runs throughout the weekend with live music, a car show, parades and family fun. This year’s headliner is multi-platinum country artist Tracy Lawrence; in addition, there will be a Saturday parade with all spectators encouraged to wear red and a BMX bike tricks show throughout the day Sunday.

Georgetown is one of the few places in the U.S. where poppies grow naturally every year.

Details: 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Free. Downtown Georgetown. poppy.georgetown.org.
