Hard to believe it’s the first day of September, but that means we’re closing out our August #Austin360Eats gallery and starting a new one to help ring in the new season of football games, back-to-school and, thankfully, slightly cooler weather.
It just so happens that we’re also celebrating our 10,000th #Austin360Eats post, which came in on Sunday and I think was this photo from Noble Sandwiches from @brisketandbagels, who has a photo from Banger’s running in the print edition of Austin360 on Friday.
As always, you can submit your restaurant/coffeeshop/food truck photos by adding #Austin360Eats to your photos on Instagram. (For home cooking photos, use #Austin360Cooks.) We gather our favorites to run in print every Friday and we put all of them in Storify galleries, like the one below.
Corby Wilfley (@nutritionnextdoor) doesn’t eat meat often, but when she does, it’s at a place like Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile, 3235 E. Cesar Chavez St., which raises all the beef used in the restaurant on its ranch near Melvin. She had the house-smoked brisket hash with pickled red bell peppers, two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.
Dave Moser (@brisketandbagels) is a big fan of the housemade sausages at Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden, 79 Rainey St., including this bulgogi-inspired chicken sausage served with soy caramel sauce, kimchi, sriracha and jalapeños on a kolache bun.
County Line BBQ is known for its barbecue, but @ateitinaustin knows that it’s worth saving some room for the restaurant’s homemade white bread. County Line celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and has two locations: one on Bee Cave Road and another on Bull Creek just off Lake Austin.
Instagram user @nashvegasnoms splits her time between Nashville and Austin, and during a recent stint here, she posted these drunken noodles from Madame Mam’s near the University of Texas campus.
Just months after making its Central Texas debut, the popular New York-based hamburger eatery Shake Shack opened at the Domain last month. Kristin Vrana (@foodfash) was there to try the burgers, fries and, not pictured, the Uchi concrete, made with vanilla custard, miso hazelnut blondie and huckleberry jam.//storify.com/broylesa/austin360eats-august-2015.js?border=false&template=grid[View the story “Austin360Eats: August 2015” on Storify]
