Your Sunday morning ACL Fest options: gospel from Kings of Harmony + 1 or the sounds of being chased through the world of “Tron” with a laser gun, courtesy of Night Drive.

Night Drive is the first act to perform on the Austin Ventures stage on day 3 of ACL Music Festival on October 4, 2015. (Suzanne Cordeiro/American-Statesman)

Those who still felt like Saturday night chose the latter on the Austin Ventures stage. I caught the band playing “Nocturnal,” a sinister track cut from the New Order/Depeche Mode cloth that, despite its sinister undercurrents, launched day three of the fest with high-octane bombast. Sharp, clipped snare beats and the electronic sounds of the damned did not stop the band from engaging in some in-the-crowd high-fives, either.

Their website describes them as “2 secret agents sent out to recalibrate the future of electro pop.” Checks out.
