1. Dairy Queen creates Blizzard for single people.

Because Blizzards for people who could possibly be in a relationship just weren’t enough, Dairy Queen, also called the “Texas stop sign,” has come out with a very indulgent new flavor for single people looking to #treatyoself. The chain has promoted the Blizzard with tags like “more for yourself” and “#breakthecliche,” encouraging singles to exert less energy on self-pity come Valentine’s Day this Sunday and more on driving to their nearest Dairy Queen. Got a boo, but still into cocoa fudge, peanut butter cups and salted caramel truffles? Maybe leave your lover at home and #treatyoself.

2. Willie Nelson and Loretta Lynn team up for music video.

According to a post on Willie Nelson’s Facebook the Austin icon will be teaming up with country-queen Loretta Lynn for a new music video. Lynn has a new album, “Full Circle,” out March 4, which will feature a duet with Nelson on the track “Lay Me Down.” Both Nelson and Lynn will be in town during South by Southwest, stirring up some speculation about the possibility of a collaboration during the festival. We’d love to see the pair joined by Nelson’s new Muppet friends.

3. Kanye West reveals new album name.

After plenty of teasing on Twitter, Kanye West has revealed the name of his new “best album ever” to debut tomorrow during a premiere event. Titled “The Life of Pablo,” West also released the album’s full and final tracklist. The album was originally titled “So Help Me God,” then “Swish,” then “Waves.” No word yet on whether or not West will follow through on an offer of “Season 3 tickets and free Yeezy’s” to anyone who could guess the album name. But one 20-year-old holds out hope.

4. UT study says on-again-off-again couples have stronger ties with friends.

While you might think that one couple you know that is always breaking up and getting back together is just a little wishy-washy, they could prove to form better ties with friends in the long run. A recent study led by UT researchers shows that couples in on-again-off-again relationships are more likely to discuss their relationship with friends, and accordingly said friends are more likely to feel as though they have a positive influence in that friend’s life. That aside, who do you run to after a breakup? Celebrate with after getting back together? That’s right. Your bros.

5. Songs about love in time for Valentine’s.

It’s not like songs about love are hard to come by. But perfectly cultivated playlists by the Austin 360 staff, piling Al Green and Etta James classics on top of tracks by artists like Daft Punk, Drive-By Truckers and Pavement, are a little less plentiful. Essentially, we’ve made the perfect mix for your Valentine’s Day weekend. You don’t have to be in love to know what these crooners are singing about; listen to our
