Caroline Rose at Cactus Cafe. Rose titled her new album “I Will Not Be Afraid,” a fitting mission statement from an artist who’s pursued a troubadour career living out of a van the past few years. Rose indeed shows no fear, addressing Trayvon Martin in “Blood on Your Bootheels” and declaring in “America Religious” that “I eat slices of white privilege processed by agri-business.” She’s an evocative singer as well, tempering her forthright attitude with vivid moments of vulnerability. $10-$12. 8 p.m. 2247 Guadalupe St. cactuscafe.org. — P.B.
