Friends and Neighbors, every Austinite’s home away from home, will open one of the rooms in their historic East Austin home to End Of An Ear on Thursday. Among the cozy seating areas and vintage treasures will now be a pop-up record shop where vinyl lovers can peruse new and old records from all kinds of artists.
The launch party will begin at 6 p.m. with a DJ set by Gordon Moakes of Bloc Party. Drink specials include $1 Dos Equis deals until 7 p.m., when The Young take the backyard stage.
End Of An Ear, a local record store on S. 1st Street, has a diverse selection of records, CDs, books, and turntables, as well as an entire section of the store devoted to local artists.
Friends and Neighbors is a new concept in retail, with clothing, food, beverages, and comfort as their products. They’re also supporters of local designers and emerging brands.
