For the eleventh year,  the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities (CTD) hosts the Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival and Short Film Competition. Stretching over both Friday and Saturday nights, the festival highlights films that positively and accurately represent disability. This year’s event returns to the newly renovated Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar (1120 S. Lamar).

Friday night’s festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with a performance by the mixed ability dance project Body Shift, followed by the best of the Short Film Competition entries created by independent filmmakers from around the world.  The night concludes with the film “Musical Chairs” featuring Laverne Cox (“Orange Is The New Black”).

Tickets can be purchased here for $10 each night. Each ticket can also be redeemed for $10 worth of food and drink from the Drafthouse menu.
