Saturday and Sunday

Dan Welcher’s "Without Form and Void." Texas Choral Consort will present Haydn’s masterwork "The Creation" in conjunction with a newly commissioned work by Austin-based composer Dan Welcher. "Without Form and Void" was composed to be performed in conjunction with "The Creation" and it expands on the themes and ideas in the popular oratorio. Welcher describes his piece as a "choral and orchestral ‘cosmic soup,’ prior to the Big Bang." 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Northwest Hills United Methodist Church, 7050 Village Center Drive. $15-$20. 512-900-8715. www.txconsort.org
